Music Magazine Front Cover Plan Extras 2 (Draft)

Page used to design and conclude logos, plan out the possible names appearance, slogans, etc.

Music Magazine Front Cover Plan Extras (Draft)

These were the pages I used to conclude what I will add to my magazine front cover and what names I had to choose from.

Music Magazine Front Cover Plan 5 (Draft)

I chose to draft this picture because it's just about music. This would be shot inside on a plain background so that a sepia effect can be added to the magazine. Also it will be taken as a wide angle shot to show both of the subjects covering the majority of the page, so the audience would pay attention to the subjects. The font type used would be Calibri (body) and the colours would be red, black and white. The background would be either a dark blue, black or metalic blue or metalic black.

Music Magazine Front Cover Plan 4 (Draft)

I chose to draft this picture because it is just music. This would be shot inside the college preferably a recording studio and if not a hall or a stage. Also it will be taken from a low angle to show power and dominance as the subject would be looked up at. Also it would be a long shot to show the full costume, props and setting/ background. The headphones and mic is a way of emphasising the music part of the magazine as they would be recording music, and listening to the beat through the headphones. The font type used would be Calibri (body) and the colours would be white, blue and yellow.

Music Magazine Front Cover Plan 3 (Draft)

I chose to draft this picture because it's just about music. This would be shot inside on a plain background so that a sepia effect can be added to the magazine. Also it will be taken as a mid shot to show the whole upper body of the subject covering the page, so the audience would only pay attention to the subject as it fills up all of the page. Dark colours will be worn to contrast with baby blue back ground. The font type used could be Calibri (body) and the font colours blue, yelow and white, background colour baby blue.

Music Magazine Front Cover Plan 2 (Draft)

I chose to draft this picture because it's just about music. This would be shot inside on a plain background so that a sepia effect can be added to the magazine. Also it will be taken close up to show mainly the head drawing attention to the subject as it fills up most of the page and setting/ background. Dark and bright colours will be worn to contrast with the sepia effect. The font type used could be Calibri (body) and the font colours yelow, black and white with a original white background that will become sepia

Music Magazine Front Cover Plan (Draft)

I chose to draft this picture because it is a mixture of sports and music. This would be shot inside the college sports hall sitting on a basketball to show the sporty side of the magazine. Also it will be taken from a low angle to show power and dominance as the subject would be looked up at. Also it would be a long shot to show the  full costume, props and setting/ background. The Dre.Beats headphones is a way of emphasising the music part of the magazine as they would be listening to music, and they could also be on their MP3 or I-Pod listening to music. The font type used would be Calibri (body) and the colours would be red, black and yellow.

Profiling Your Audience (My Magazine Customer)

The person that would buy my magazine is Nathan, a young black youth of the age 18 that lives in Beckenham South London. Nathan, is in full time education (attending college, and is currently applying to universities), and has a part time job in Nike Town. Nathan, is still living with his parents, has an interest in rap music and in producing rap music as a hobby.
Nathan has a very strong interest in rap, R&B, hip hop, garage and grime music. Nathan is very controversial, very fond of junk food, and poetry, this shows their youthfulness and at the same time expresses liking for rap. Junior are a very pleasant individual that everyone would love to be around, also Junior finds he can express themselves through music. He enjoys playing basketball as well on a regular occasion with his friends and plays for his college team.
Nathan enjoys the use of the internet so he would really enjoy using the web link to check out the website for my magazine and seeing what else we have to offer. He would probably even subscribe. Also I would make my web page very modern and vibrant to attract his attention.
Nathan enjoys keeping up to date on his music and sport so I have included sport stars in my magazine, but it’s mainly about rap music and rap artists. Junior enjoys buying music and sport magazines on a regular basis and chooses from a variety of magazines to purchase instead of staying loyal to just one.

My magazine would serve Nathan, by adding some of the most popular artists that he would really like (Wiz Khalifa, Eminem, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and  Drake).
I would include sports(particularly) in my magazine to amuse him as he supports the Lakers, and is a huge basketball fan, his favourite player however is Dwyane Wade of the Miami heat (showing his controversial side. Interviews with Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.

Nathan wears a lot of clothes that are very American. Snap backs, baseball jackets, hi-tops, etc. All this leads to the conclusion he leads a very American culture based lifestyle. This would explain his love for basketball and rap music (American sport and music as was started in America) including American themes in my media product would really appeal to him, and tries to make sure that he will be interested in the magazine.

Nathan likes his technology (like most teenagers). He owns a lot of gadgets and consoles/ hardware, such as PS3, PSP, Black Berry phone, Nintendo Wii, I-Touch, apple-mac and apple laptop. Because of his love and apparent dependence of technology and hardware I would include modern technology in my magazine to draw his attention to it (particularly in the front page so it is the first thing that he would see) and include it as much as possible.

Music Contents Page Analysis 4

·        One large page sized picture is used to fill up the majority of page

·        The person photographed is a rapper and hip hop artist GZA, and he is wearing an orange top and this contrasts with the red background, which can attract the reader’s attention. The rapper is a black male aged 30-40, so it would indicate that the magazine is mainly aimed at teenage rap fans and older of all ethnicities and all genders.

College Magazine Contents Page

I was asked to create a college magazine cover and contents page and I have done this as followed:

I used a wide shot for the contents page of my magazine as I wanted a contents page with more than 1 person in it, and it ended up as a group photo. My aim was to fill up as much of the page as I could whilst still having a nice background. The picture I took was were the subjects are all looking at the camera relaxing toegether on the steps to represent a friendship, and portay the college as a friendly community. All are looking at the camera except one which is looking at the bottom right side (from their perspective), in an attempt to interest the reader to see what he is looking at. Also there is a relaxed sense to the magazine because of the body language of all the subjects.

I went for a simple lay out putting contents of the magazine in the middle near the top so that is didnt interfere too much with the subjects in the picture. Also when it came to the font I used a green masthead because its bright, vibrant and friendly which could influence the reader to become interested in the magazine and making them feel comfortable reading it.

College Magazine Front Page

I was asked to create a college magazine cover and contents page and I have done this as followed:
I used a medium close up for the front page of my magazine. My aim was to fill up as much of the page as I could , but my picture was going to take up most of my page. The picture I took was one were the subject is looking at the bottom right side (from their perspective), and their face is without emotion but gives a sense of interest because of the look given. Also there is a relaxed sense to the magazine because of the body language.

I went for a simple lay out putting the cover lines on the bottom left hand side, and kept everything simple so I didnt mess up things and make stuff more complicated for me than it should be, and added a bar code because the magazine would need to be purchased. Also when it came to the font I used a purple masthead to represent the college colours of Christ the King, and for cover-lines I attempted to use bright colours as they would catch out the readers eye. The colours i chose were yellow, red and baby blue as I felt these colours were bright and vibrant.
